the blackboard, review the pattern “can do”, and get the students to say the English of the following Chinese.
(3) Use gestures to act prepositions. Step3 Presentation (15 minutes) (1) Present the conception of preposition: describe the position relations between two things. (2) Present the pattern of “there be”
Explain: There is + countable nouns single forms \ uncountable nouns There are + countable nouns plurals eg: a. There is a tree in front of the house. b. There is some milk.
c. There are some pandas in the zoo.
* affirmative, negative, question and answer Step 4 Drill and practice (20 minutes) Mechanical drill (1) Look at new words on the blackboard: nice, sea, island, wood, house In a nice nice room Use the words to make sentences a. In a nice sea.
b. There is an island.
c. There is a wood in front of the house.
Remarks : Study the new words to play games (2) Tell the story, take out the pictures and make up story listen to the tape In a nice nice room firstly, read it with partner
secondly, translate the sentences thirdly, explain it
Exercises : affirmative, negative, question and answer
①There is a nice, nice island. ②There is a nice, nice wood. There isn’t a nice, nice island. There isn’t a nice, nice wood. Is there a nice, nice island ? Is there a nice, nice wood ? Yes, there is. No, there aren’t. Yes, there is. No, there isn’t.
③In a nice, nice sea. On that nice, nice island. Study the preposition: on, in, under, behind, in front of, next to Lay out gestures (3) Practice the affirmatives, negative, question and answer of the “there be” and prepositions Explain : T: There is a horse behind the house (T说汉语,S 说英语句子) Ss: There isn’t a horse behind the house. Is there a horse behind the house ? Yes, there is. No, there isn’t. Meaningful drill: (4) Talk about the pictures
Show the following stick pictures, then talk about them one by one. T: Look at the pictures: ①sea ②island ③wood ④house Use the pictures to retell the text.
Get the students to talk about the pictures in pairs.
Step 5 Consolidation, summary, and assignment of homework. (1) Consolidation
Get the students to do exercise 1,2,3 on page24 in English book. (2) Summary
