Jane had a stuffed toy chimpanzee named Jubilee,

珍有一个叫朱比利的猩猩玩具。

She cherished Jubilee and took him everywhere she went. And Jane loved to be outside.

她好喜欢朱比利，走到哪儿都带着它，很喜欢带着朱比利到户外玩。

She watched birds making their nests,spiders spinning their webs, and squirrels chasing one another up and down trees.

她观察小鸟筑巢，蜘蛛织网，松鼠在书上彼此追逐打闹。

Jane learned all that she could about the animals and plants she studied in her backyard and read about in books.

珍在花园和书本上学到了她能学到的所有关于动植物的知识。

One day, curious Jane wondered where eggs came from. So she and Jubilee snuck into Grandma Nutt’s chicken coop…

Jane often climbed her favorite tree, which she named Beech. She would lay her cheek against its trunk and seem to feel the sap flowing beneath the bark.

Jane could feel her own heart beating,beating, beating.

With the wind in her hair, she read and reread the books about Tarzan of the Apes, in which another girl, also named Jane, lived in the jungles of Africa.

Jane dreamed of a life in Africa, too…

珍梦到了非洲的生活……

A life living with, and helping, all animals.

一种和动物们在一起的生活，一种能帮助动物们的生活。

At night Jane would tuck Jubilee into bed,say her prayers.

夜晚珍把朱比利带到床上，对它说出自己的愿望。

And fall asleep…

然后入睡。

to awake one day…

一天醒来……

To her dream come true.

直到梦想实现。
