III The Gender Discrimination in Han Language The Socio-cultural Origins Reveal Its Elimination Countermeasure Abstract Language is thought of as the quintessence of the development of human society. As a mirror of the society, language reflects the specific social values and thinking modes. It is efficient and favorable to probe some certain linguistic phenomena. There is a lot of language on women’s sexual discrimination in modern Chinese, which is based on gender. This paper focuses on discussing the sexual discrimination through characters, words formation, words order and semantics, etc. And efforts are made to tap the socio-cultural origins under the phenomena, which are helpful for us to understand and eliminate the sexual discrimination in Chinese modern Language to contribute to gender harmony.
