Introduction of Lion City Park

Lion City Park is a open-comprehensive park which set entertainment,river landscape,green cultivation in one. Located in the range of Yingbin Avenue, exhibition road, high-speed railway road, and the extension line of Yuhe West Road.It is 600 meters from the north to the south,300 meters from east to west, covers an area of 191,000 square meters. The project was designed by the Beijing ancient garden architecture design and Research Institute and Taiwan Dafeng Design Consulting Co. Ltd. and constructed by the Beijing Urban Construction Road and Bridge Group, Cangzhou creating green landscape engineering company and Cangzhou third Jianan. The construction supervision was carried out all-round by Cangzhou Bohai Engineering Construction Supervision Co..The total investment is 190 million yuan , mainly to meet the 2009 Wuqiao International Acrobatic Art Festival held in Cangzhou,as well as the 60th anniversary of the National Day.The whole project started on March 31, 2009 ended on September 29, 2009 and completely opened to the public.It was named the five-star Park and top ten Park of Hebei Province in 2012 .

Lion City Park can be divided into six scenic spots by function: Rose viewing area, waterfront landscape areas,public activities area, ecological viewing area, forest walking zones , leisure and fitness area.

The total green area is about 124,000 square meters , the park planted more than 90 species of trees and shrubs, the main varieties are: Ginkgo, Platanus orientalis, spruce, Pinus bungeana, Chinese pine and so on. To further enrich the effect of improving the park landscape in recent years,it has increased the waterfowl, ornamental fish, flower pillars, flowers balls. 1100 meter of reconstructed and constructed the water systems for 1100 meters, built 13 bridges landscape , installed 18 Landscape lights which are16 meters tall.

Placed at the entrance is a theme stature which is a iron lion sculpture, iron lion as a subject , focus on highlighting Cangzhou’s unique cultural connotations.In 2012, Cangzhou Party Committee and Government decided to re-cast iron lion statue, placed in the Lion City Park , to revive the iron lion grand and power. The experts and scholars of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cangzhou City Bureau of Cultural Relics, Botou Foundry Association and other 17 units discussed on the iron lion’s heritage, technology, materials and other issues for several times, finalizing the new iron lion was 1.32 times bigger than the original one.It is 6.905 meters high, 8.532 meters long,the body is 4.18 meters wide, the inner is hollow,the wall thickness is 5 cm, the weight is 100.08 tons , designed to " life " as 2000 years. Gray iron is the major material,technology using solid mold casting technology,Modelling of the resin sand pit. The south side of the square is the rose garden , planting varieties of roses, Chinese roses, south entrance area is 5,000 square meters, there is parking area on both sides of the square, to meet the parking needs of the show,also has a 500 square meters of tensioned membrane square .

The position of Lion City Park in function is: The transmission of Cangzhou culture, to show new Cangzhou prosperity , to create the city 's most beautiful landscapes cards. Improve the urban development capabilities to meet the urban leisure, festivals, and other functional requirements. Taking the ecological oriented, to adjust regional microclimate, construct urban "green lung ." And provide emergency place for disaster prevention .

In short, the Lion City Park is a collection of a large square , entertainment , sports performance, green landscape in an integrated garden,the construction of the park provides a harmonious sharing urban open space for Cangzhou citizens.
