My mother is a village woman， who is already in her fifties. She had very little school education， but she knows that knowledge is of great importance to young people. She often asks me how I get along with my studies and encourages me to study hard.

My mother takes good care of me and does everything she can for me， so that I can spend more time on my study.

Once she was badly ill and had stayed in bed for several days. When I got home to see her at night， I found the light was still on and mother was sitting in bed， making new clothes for me ！ I was so deeply moved that tears came to my eyes.

Such is my mother， a kind and hard-working woman. I’ll respect and love her forever.

People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world. But I don’t think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than anything else.

The old saying“To open a book is always helpful”clearly shows us how good it is to read a book. Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge.They lead us down the road to success.

Books are our teachers. They teach us truth, science, literature, and philosophy of life, besides they increase our knowledge, enlarge our experience, strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do without them.

We have to learn as long as we live. But our life is limited, and the knowledge is boundless. There are many things which are very necessary to learn and there are also many which should be avoided. Books tell us what is good and what is evil. And only books can tell the good from the bad.

Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.

Saving Our Earth

It is very important to deal with the rubbish in cities. For one thing, rubbish may cause a lot of pollution. It may pollute the air, the water and the places we live in. For another, it may do harm to people’s health.

So in our city, rubbish is well dealt with. First, it is sorted. Then old newspapers and glass are recycled. The harmful wastes are buried and the waste water is cleaned before it goes into the river. The government has already made laws against pollution caused by rubbish.

But that’s not enough. We must all try our. best to prevent rubbish from polluting the


environment so as to. save our city and our living place. 拯救地球

The Internet is playing a more and more important part in our daily life. On the net, we can learn news both at home and abroad and all kinds of other information as well. We can also send messages by e-mail, make phone calls, go to net school, read various kinds of books and learn foreign languages by ourselves. Besides, we can enjoy music, watch sports matches and play chess or cards. On the net, we can even do shopping, have a chat with others and make friends with them. In a word, the internet has made our life more colorful.
