定语从句的基本用法我们已经学习过了。本模块主要从以下几个方面复习 定语从句的用法： ⑴关系代词和关系副词引导定语从句的区别 ⑵介词前置的现象 ⑶非限制性定语从句 二、知识探究

1、关系代词和关系副词引导定语从句的区别

关系代词在定语从句中可充当主语、宾语或定语，而关系副词则只能充当状语。

a.He still remembers the days ____ he spent with his grandparents in the distant village.

b.He still remembers the days ____ he worked with his grandparents in the distant village.

c. He still remembers the day ____ he worked with his grandparents in the distant village..



2、介词加关系词引导的定语从句

当定语从句中存在介词时，为了使定语从句与主句的联系更紧密，通常将介词提到引导词之前，即构成介词前置。介词前置应注意的问题有： a. 一旦介词前置，关系代词只能由 whom 或which中选择：指人用 whom；指物用which。不能使用that, 且关系代词也不能省略。如： Do you know the person to whom our teacher was just speaking? This is the very room in which Karl Marx was born.

b. 若定语从句中的介词属于结构紧凑的固定搭配，则一般不能前置，以免引 起歧义。如：

Is this baby the one who / whom you were looking after the whole morning?

此句不可说成：

Is this baby the one after whom you were looking the whole morning? c. “介词+关系代词”通常可与关系副词相互转化。如： This is the very room in which Karl Marx was born. = This is the very room where Karl Marx was born.
