口语教学计划

Period I Watch and discuss Time: Place

Teaching Aims:

1. Encourage students to use the appropriate words to talk about the school life and review the words about school life.

2. Learn different words which mean the same thing between British English and American English.

3. Learn the differences between American school lives and Chinese school lives.

4. Help students to understand team spirit and know what to do to keep the team spirit in a team or group.

Teaching contents:

1. Watch a video about Lilys first day in an American high school, then have a discussion. 2. Watch a short flash about a running competition between Chinese and American teams,

then find out the reason why the Chinese team loses. 3. A talent show of all the students. Important points:

1. Help the students use the proper words to talk about their daily school lives.

2. Grasp the spelling of British words and American words such as lift and elevator, post

and mail, film and movie, football and soccer, and so on.

3. Learn the differences between American school lives and Chinese school lives. Difficult points:

1. Learn the differences between American school lives and Chinese school lives.

2. Help students to understand team spirit and know what to do to keep the team spirit in a team or group. Teaching methods: Communicative methods Teaching procedure Step Content Step 1 Warm-up (5mins) Teacher has a

Step 2 Pre-task

(5mins) Show the flags

of the UK and the USA. And help students to learn more different words which mean the same thing in both England and America.

Step 3 Watch and (15 discuss: mins) Play a video

about Lilys first day in an

American high school, then let students have a discussion.

T: I know many boys like playing football. Do you know what it says in American English?

Do you know the same use of other words? Please give me some examples.

Soccer.(Write on Bb)

Autumn means fall. Rubber means eraser.

Secondary school means high school.

Which countries are the two girls from?

Watch the video again and discuss in groups of four to find out the differences between them. You can read the script on Page 10.

Lily is from China and Jenifer is American.

( Watch, read and discuss.) Group 1: they often use slangs, such as Break your

Group 2: They talk with their parents just like talking with firnds.

Group 3: They are easier to make friends.

Group 4: They dont wear school uniforms.

Group 5: They are more humorous.

Watch and find: Watch a short flash about a running competition

between Chinese and American teams, then find out the reason why the Chinese team loses. Show time

(play the flash) Now, well watch a funny short flash. Watch and tell me what is happening?

Which team wins the competition? Why?

Yes, that is called Team Spirit. What can we do to keep team spirit in a team or group? Ask each group to send a student representative to show us his / her talent. Their behaviors must have something to do with English.

( laugh ) There are two teams having a competition of running. One is Chinese, and the other is American.

The American team. Because some American player leave a mark in the traps.

( Students discuss in groups of four again and find out their own answers.)

Show their talents by singing an English song, dancing or telling an English joke and so on.

Homework

1. Each of the students in the Riverside Drama Club must prepare a talent show in English.

In the next lesson, we will have a small party to enjoy different shows.

2. Finish Part 2 of Task 2 in their groups after class, well discuss these questions in the

After-class-reflection

参加社团活动的既有七年级学生也有八年级学生,所以教材在编定时有了不同的难度。备课时,笔者根据学生的具体情况进行分层次备课。教学中在开展活动时,笔者亦注意不同层次学生的活动难度不同。但是初一的学生任然具有畏惧心理不敢开口说英语怕说错。笔者认为这是课前准备不充分造成的,这里所指的不充分既是指学生也是指任课教师。因此笔者在家庭作业里对学生提出了课前预习探讨的要求,在以后的备课中,笔者会充分注意到提问和活动安排的难易层次,会加强针对性的指导。
