Nowadays, with people’s living standard improving, more and more people choose to go travelling. Some prefer arranged tours while others like self-help traveling more.

The reason why people choose to go self-help traveling may lie in that they can save a lot of money by booking cheaper hotels and taking cheaper transportation means.

Perhaps another reason is that they prefer the freedom self-help traveling possesses compared with many constraints the arranged tour includes. However, self-help traveling still has some potential problems. The most noticeable one is the safety hazard. Being alone without a group or a tour guide, a traveler may be helpless in face of such dangers as robbery, wild animal attacks and so on. In addition, they are more likely to be at risk of getting lost when traveling alone in a strange city or in the remote countryside.

As far as I am concerned, self-help traveling can be exciting and challenging which is worth trying. However, before setting out alone on a tour, travelers should make good preparations. Besides, they should bear security in mind all the time and keep in touch with their friends or

relatives at any time. Only by doing so can they enjoy the pleasure brought by exploring a strange city safe and sound. 如今，随着人们生活水平的提升，越来越多的人选择去旅游。有些人更喜欢安排自助游，而其他人则更喜欢自助游。
