Materials for teaching 猜谜语用的谜语卡片(可以多找一些谜语,教师事先 将谜语贴在墙上) 比赛用的气球
让学生写新年贺卡的纸 做纸树的报纸圈 单元教学活动1 Listen, sing, chant and talk. 教师进教室的时候跟学生打招呼说:“Hello, boys and girls, the new year is coming. Happy New Year!” 教师接着说:“If I say, „Happy New Year,‟ you also say „Happy New Year‟ to me. Can you try that?” 教师接着带着大家一起说几遍 “Happy New Year!” 然后教师又说:“In America, when they have Christmas, they say, „Merry Christmas!‟ you also should say, „Merry Christmas!‟ or „The same to you!‟ 你也一样。Let‟s try it out. „Merry Christmas!‟” 教师跟学生试着打几次招呼。接着教师说:“Today we are going to have a lot of fun. We are going to play lot of games. Do you like games? Let‟s play it one by one.”
a) “First of all, let‟s guess riddles. You see, on the wall, we have many riddles, please get up and
read the riddles by yourself. Let‟s see who can guess the riddles first. Please write your answers on the blackboard.”
教师让学生离开座位去猜谜语,谜语的数量最好有20~30多个,学生可以写出中文答案。 比如:
This animal stands on two legs and jumps. (a kangaroo)
This is bigger than an elephant and it lives in water. (a whale) You listen with these. (ears)

These are green and nice. You eat them hot with other vegetables or meat. (peas) This may be hot or cold, and you stand under it when you are dirty. (a shower) This is very hard. You walk on it when you are inside a house. (a floor)
Some trousers and skirts might fall down without this. It‟s long and thin (a belt) This is the name of the meal you eat at midday (lunch) In this game you hit the ball. (hockey)
You throw and bounce the ball in this game, But you can‟t kick it. (basketball) You can watch films on this. (a TV)

教师可以迅速让大家说出谜底。游戏之后,教师可以给学生发奖,发奖原则可以是最快的或最难的。教师也可以把准备好的谜语用纸条写下来。发给学生,让他们自己猜,但是教师要掌握好时间。
b) 教师接着组织第二个游戏。教师说:“Now, let‟s play the second game. We have many letters
here. Please choose one person to come here and take twelve letters from this box. Then we put the letters on the blackboard. Each group will be together and write out the possible words on a piece of paper.” 教师此时发一张纸并给一个例子。 “When I say „stop‟, you quickly stop. And read the words you have written. We‟ll see which group has got more words. Now let‟s begin.” 教师找一个学生到前面挑十个字母。大家迅速开始。然后,再找一两个同学进行第二次、第三次组词活动。 c) 教师组织大家玩猜同学游戏。教师说:“Now let‟s play another game. I want to have one boy
or girl whose eyes will be covered. We are around you. You touch the person and guess who he or she is. OK?” 玩该游戏时,教师让全班同学都到教室的后面,围成一个圈,但不必太大。 d) 投球游戏。教师可以让一个高个字男孩拿一个圈,每组派三个选手参加,站在两米以外,
一人只投一次,算总分。
e) 吹气球。教师同时让每个组的某个同学到前面来,并发给他们一个事先洗干净的气球。
教师说:“Begin!” 他们开始吹,全班同学开始数数,从1数到10后喊停止。最后检查哪个组吹得大。此游戏可以进行两组。
f) 教师可以让大家玩钓鱼游戏。这个要根据教学的准备来进行。 g) 教师对大家说:“OK, now please go back to your seats. In a few days, it will be a new year.

第二部分是用几个不同国家的语言说新年快乐。学生只需说几遍而已,并不需要当时就记住。教师可以这样说:“Now we can speak „Happy new year‟ in English. But we can‟t say it in other
languages. Now let‟s learn to say it first in French, then in Japanese, in Italian, in Russian and in German.”
每个部分做完游戏后要加强练习。
单元教学活动3 Draw, colour and write.
第三部分是写新年卡片。教师应该教给学生写几句关键的话,如, Happy new year to you! Good luck! 同时要教给学生写,Dear Dad, Mum, Miss, Mrs. 这些称谓。教师可以让学生在课后设计两张贺卡,送给自己想送的人,爸爸妈妈或这是朋友。 单元教学活动4 Trace the line and find out the answer. 第四部分属回答问题的练习。教师先让学生来画线并找到要去的地方及交通工具,然后要让学生进行表达。教师可以这样说:“Now let‟s look at Part 4. First of all, you need to trace the line and find out the answer. Where are these students going? Then you need to say to your partner. 相应的答案是:

单元教学活动5 Match the “dot” game. 第五部分是拼图游戏。教师将事先准备好的已经剪成两半的图发给每个学生,教师让学生在规定的时间内迅速找到自己的另一半。在找的过程中,每个人只能说英语。一个同学说:“where is the tiger?” 另一个同学只能说:“It‟s here.” 然后两个人迅速到教师那儿报到,表示完成。教师要奖励前六名,奖发完为止。发现讲汉语的学生,不能计任何分。 单元教学活动6 Make a paper tree. 第六部分是手工游戏。教师可以在课堂上给学生做示范并提要求。教师可以将事先卷好的纸当着学生的面剪开,然后让学生回家后自己做一棵彩树,下次上课时展示。 单元教学活动7 Look, think and read.
第七部分是阅读写词练习。教师可以根据以往的部分帮助学生进行练习。 单元教学活动8 Look, think and write.
第八部分是“单词接龙“游戏。教师可以以小组为单位来进行接龙游戏,这样参与的人要多一些。在规定的时间内看哪个小组接得最长,单词最多。教师最好事先给每个小组一张大纸,并按照教材90页上的图案画上格子,再发给每个组一支笔让小组来完成,可以一个人执笔,其他人说。最后每个组举着纸让大家看结果,进行评比。 单元教学活动9 Test your brain.
第九部分是一个智力游戏。答案是拿掉多余的火柴棍,最后剩下TEN. 课后作业
天天练 描红,听读练习。
制作两张贺卡送给爸爸妈妈。要用英语写上祝福的语言。
