SITE
The Site is an area as described below, its location is provided in the Annex 5A. 2.
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AND CLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SITE
The Company is Operator under the Development and Production Service Contract, under which the consortium of contractor companies develops the West Qurna (phase 2) oil field in the Republic of Iraq.
The field is located in the southeastern part of Iraq, 50 km westwards from Basra and 32 km to south-west from Zubair Field.
The field occupies lower reaches of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which confluence constitutes the Shatt Al Arab River. The relief of the area is described as a plateau of low-lying coastal sand plain having an elevation 5 to 50 m. Tectonically the West Qurna-2 is assigned to platform slope of the Mesopotamian Fore deep Basin. The contract area of the West Qurna-2 field lies in the northernmost part of the Rumaila Field.
The northern part of the field is intersected by Euphrates river. Width of riverbed is 300-400 m and depth is 8.0 - 8,5m. The river banks are low. The contract area territory is partly under water and 4-5m high dams are filled in meridional and lateral directions to protect the territory against flooding. An asphalt motor road goes along the central dam from north to south (northward of the Euphrates).
Part of the territory along southern and northern bank of Euphrates river is occupied by a network of rural inhabitant areas and palm woods. The area is in subtropical climate, maximum summer temperature is +54оС, minimum winter temperature is -5оС. The average annual amount of precipitation is less than 200 mm.
Basrah, Qurna and Medeina towns are interconnected with a paved road. The nearest rail road stretches away from Basrah in latitudinal direction. Technical water is to be supplied from rivers and lakes, potable water is provided from inhabitant areas.

AREA OF SERVICES.
Facilities, to be provided with the Services under this Contract, include the WQ-2 Mishrif formation operational facilities:
Well Pads (pads 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12) and oil Gathering System Mishrif CPF
Water Intake, Water Pipeline
Distribution networks, substations related to above systems
The specified facilities are designed to achieve the production level of 400 kbopd from the WQ-2 Mishrif formation.
The services, stipulated by the Contract, are also provided for the additional equipment and systems, which will be started up during the implementation of future projects of West Qurna-2 field development.
