BUSINESS CASE STUDYING

This time the two groups task is the estate which is Trumps most familiar area. Each group was distributed a house which need to decorate and was given 20000 dollars. And the house with more increasing value will win. In order to increase the difficulty, Trump invited four people who were fired at first.

Next,I will analyze this business case from two inspects, the SWOT analysis and the summary. The SWOT Analysis 1.Strengths

The advantage of both the winning team and the losing team have the consciousness of finding a good estate contractor at first. This is the most significant point in the whole project. Also, the original groupers and the once fired groupers could get involved in others as soon as possible. 2.Weakness.

The losing team have much more disadvantages. First,it is due to the lazy of the contractor that causes Rajs team failed. Even though the contractor seemed to be fine, they didnt get involved in the whole project. In contrast, the winning team seemed to be sagacious. They found a estate contractor when they were talking with the estate contractor which helped them win the event. Second, the members of the losing team are too self-centered for their not listening to others proposals and stubbornly thinking that they are right. The team leader stubbornly thought that he was right and made the four rooms into three rooms. Third, they are filled with hurry and irrational. In order to clean the room as soon as possible, they threw the garbage from upstairs. However,the decoration didnt finish at last. The vital importance is that the toilet was unfinished and all the decoration was in a mess. Last, they are lack of responsibility.When they were in the meeting room, they were only to put the failure blame on others. On the contrary, the winning team seems to have few disadvantages. First, due to the fired member joined in the event,they seemed to be disunity and positive at first. However, when they found the contractor, everything seemed to be fine. Second, the progress of the developer was so slow that causes the whole team

was inattentive. Third, the team leader was lack of experience.She didnt have the experience of being a leader so that she didnt know how to lead a team. 3.Opportunity

The winning group have the opportunity of finding the contractor. Both teams were faced the problem of the contractors in the beginning. The winning team could catch the opportunity finding another contractor while the losing team were only to supervise the contractor. The losing teams opportunity is their invention and creativity and even if they can use the creativity into the project,they will have the hope to win the event. 4.Threaten

The threaten of the winning team is they lack the cohesion. Its due to be disunity and positive at first that this team lacked the cohesion and they didnt have passion at first. Conversely, the losing team have the threaten of their attitude. If they wont be familiar with the estate, they cant identify the contractor at first. When they found that the contractor have problems, they didnt have a strong enough attitude to solve the problem but they chose to strengthen the supervision that caused the project unfinished. The Summary

As far as Im concerned, the team that winning is not because they make the right choice and catch the opportunity, but because they can be unity. Even though Rob was fired at first, he worked harder and help the team win the competition. From this business case, I learn that it is cooperation that can make a team win. It is the prerequisite condition. Moreover, catching the opportunity is also an important condition. While the winning have many advantages, the losing team seems to have many disadvantages. If I am a member of that team, I will make the following changes. First of all, I will choose the contractor carefully at first. In addition, when I find the contractor is lazy for us, I will change the contractor instead of strengthening the supervision. Furthermore, we are supposed to listen to the opinions of others and not be self-centered. Last but important is responsibility, when we are failed, we should be responsible for our mistake instead of blaming others.
