Abstract

In modern society, with the frequent exchange of cultures, it is evitable to come across the issue of taboo during the foreign exchange concerning the topics like, politics, economy, and religion, etc. The ignorance of taboo may result in some pragmatic errors and cause insult to people, thus hinder smooth communication. Therefore, it is of great importance to learn the use of taboo, thus to know the proper use English as well as cultivate the cross-culture capability during the foreign exchange. From the perspective of taboo vocabulary and taboo topic, this paper will study the pragmatic errors in English, therefore, it will try to put forward some suggestions concerning this problem.

摘 要

在文化交际日益频繁的今天，我们在政治、经济、宗教等对外交流中不可避免会遇到语言禁忌问题，对其不了解势必造成语用上的失误和冒犯，阻碍交际的顺利进行。因此学习禁忌语对我们在跨文化交际中能够正确掌握和运用英语并增强跨文化意识有重要意义。本论文从英语禁忌语词语和禁忌话题的角度, 结合英语的语用失误, 探究英语禁忌语的语用失误的解决之道。
