The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)announced last Saturday that its board ofgovernors has adopted resolutions approving sevenapplications to join the bank, bringing its totalapproved membership to 77.

亚洲基础设施投资银行(亚投行)上周六宣布，其理事会已通过决议批准7个新成员的加入，使其成员总数扩大到77个。

The approved applications came from three regionalprospective members - Bahrain, Cyprus and Samoa -and four non-regional prospective members, namelyBolivia, Chile, Greece and Romania. 此次获批的是3个域内意向成员--巴林、塞浦路斯和萨摩亚;以及玻利维亚、智利、希腊、罗马尼亚4个非域内意向成员。

"More and more countries are signing up to become members of AIIB because they see howinternationalism can promote development in Asia, with far reaching benefits for the globaleconomy," said Jin Liqun, AIIB president.

"We welcome our new prospective members and thank them for joining us in our effort to meetthe infrastructure needs in the region," he said.

The seven prospective members will officially join AIIB once they complete the requireddomestic processes and deposit their first installment of capital with the bank.

The shares allocated to the new prospective members come from the bank's existing pool ofunallocated shares, according to AIIB. 据亚投行表示，分配给新意向成员国的股本主要来自于该银行现有股本池中未分配的部分。

With 57 signatories at its launch in January 2016 and the approval of 13 prospective membersin March 2017, AIIB aims to provide financing to address the infrastructure needs across Asia.
