Lesson 3 A Homepage for Dongfang International School第一课时

一、学习目标:

帮助学生了解国际东方学校的情况，是一所什么样的学校，课程设置有哪些等。 帮助学生学会表示原因的连词as的用法。 (一)基础目标:

1. 掌握Vocabulary中的homepage，consist，consist of, basic, chemistry，social，social science， life science, fine arts, achieve，educational, quality, as, home and abroad, staff, experienced;单词及了解他们的汉语意义。 2. 学会用as引导的原因状语从句。

3. 能读懂和理解Text 中的课本内容，并能根据课本内容填写70页的对话内容。 4. 能用英语正确的描述自己学校的情况。 （二）发展目标：

1．结合课文内容能够辨析理解这些词的用法： set up， build，found；hope ，wish； 2．能用所学的词语来描述学校的情况，拓展学生的语言量。.

3．能结合72页所给的单词或词组进行的语言内容整合，让学生分组表演。 （三）能力目标：

能根据生活中的实际情景用英语描述学校的概况。 能培养学生英语的听说能力。

培养学生用英语自编自演英语对话，培养学生的合作能力。 情感、策略和文化等有关目标：

1. 情感态度：了解校园生活，热爱自己的学校。

2. 学习策略：在开展小组活动，编排小对话的时候要善于学习别的同学好的方法。 3. 文化目标: 正确的应用英语描述学校的生活。 二、教学资源:

新世纪版（沪外教）《英语》八年级第二学期Unit 2 lesson 3. 三. 课前准备：录音机，ppt课件，学生小组分配; 四. 教学步骤：1课时 (每课时45分钟) 1. Step one： ①Warming –up

②Learn new words: homepage，consist，consist of, basic, chemistry，social，social science， life science, fine arts, achieve，educational, quality, as, home and abroad, staff, experienced;

(2) Teaching methods: The teacher play the tape of the new words, then read aloud after it together.

(3) Purpose：

①听录音，跟读，让学生模仿，感受最纯正的读音， 创造英语学习氛围。 ② 熟悉本课所用的单词，能更熟练、准确的理解课文。 2. Step two:

(1). Lead in the text, Dongfang International School is holding a school history exhibition. Look at the pictures, and answer the questions.

(2). Express reasons and describe the school. 3. Step three:

辨析set up，build，found set up指“建立，搭起”，常用于具体的或抽象的事物；build表示“修建；建立”，常与建筑物连用；found表示“成立；创办”，着重指打下基础或开办。 词组：set off出发；燃放set out 出发；动身set free释放 4. Step Four:

Grammar：Study the adverbial clause of reason (as) 引导的原因状语从句.

一般来说，as语气较弱，较口语化，所表示的原因比较明显，或是已知的事实，故不需要强调。因而位于句首。而because语气最强，表示听着未知的原因，因而常常位于句尾，成为信息的焦点。因此之故，as不能回答why的问题，而because只能回答why的问题。 五. 板书设计：

本课主要是学习关于学校生活的一些事情，让学生自己能用英语说出自己学校的概况，有些学生对单词的掌控能力还是不够，用英语表达学科不熟悉。.
