Why University Students Doing Part-time Job



Nowadays, it is popular for university students to have a part-time job. However, why more and more students choose to do this is still a question for me. So I did a survey to find out that. In this essay, I will show you the results.

Firstly, according to my survey result, most students (about 60%) choose to have a part-time job because of the high pressure of employment. And doing a part-time job can help them gain more practical experience, which will help a lot when they hunt a job after graduating from university. As is known to all, university is to help students get prepared for working and living independently in the future. Therefore, it is necessary for students to balance the theory they learned in the textbooks and the practical experience which is not easy to get at school. There is no doubt that having a part-time job is a great chance for college students to gain hands-on experience and practice what they have learned at school in real life. In addition, the experience they get through doing a part-time job is exactly what the employer wants. Therefore, the number of students who choose to have a part-time job is increasing.

Secondly, about twenty percent of students think that having a part-time job can help them make money and support themselves. College students have already been adults, they have already had the ability to work outside and support themselves. If a college student still totally depends on his parents, he will feel ashamed, even for those who come from a wealth family. For those who are not as rich as others, doing a part-time job will absolutely reduce the heavy burdens of their family. And improve their quality of life.

Last but not least, the reason for some students (about 20%) doing a part-time job is that they want to broaden their horizon. For most students in China, what is exactly the most suitable job for themselves is a great problem. A great number of students even
