满江红·写怀

怒发冲冠，凭栏处、潇潇雨歇。

Wrath sets on end my hair. I lean on railings, while the rain leaves off its pitter-pat.

抬望眼，仰天长啸，壮怀激烈。

Eyes fixed skyward, I let out a battle cry. A hero’s fury fills my chest.

三十功名尘与土，八千里路云和月。

Thirty years: fame and honour, just so much dust; Eighty hundred leagues: travelling with the moon and clouds.

莫等闲，白了少年头，空悲切！

Should youthful heads in vain turn grey, we would regret for aye.

靖康耻，犹未雪。臣子恨，何时灭！

Lost our capitals, yet unavenged, what a burning shame! How can we generals, quench our vengeful flame!

驾长车，踏破贺兰山缺。

Driving chariots of war, we'd stomp out all intruders on the Helan Pass.

壮志饥餐胡虏肉，笑谈渴饮匈奴血。Glorious quest: to feast on the flesh of the invaders; laughing, we'd drink the blood they shed.

待从头、收拾旧山河，朝天阙！

When we’ve reconquered our lost land, in triumph would return our army grand.
