你对机器人感兴趣吗？你注意观察过生活中出现的机器人吗？近年来机器人越来越被公众所熟知，有的银行、餐厅里都出现了服务机器人的身影。雅思口语也在这一季度把机器人列入了考察的范围，要求同学们能用英语谈论机器人的优缺点，以及他们给人类生活带来的影响和改变，这恰好是一部分同学的软肋，今天就来和五月花留学一起学习吧!

机器人是人类智慧的结晶



Robot is the crucial product of human wisdom.

We invented a wide range of robots according to the different requirements, they are applied in every walk of life（被应用于各行各业）. In most of factories, we need robots for some dangerous, repetitive and high-precision works（危险、重复、高精度的工作）, you see, they won't get tired and they are precise enough（足够精准） to avoid mistakes. Thus robots boost our productivity（提高生产力） greatly.

根据不同的需求我们发明了各类机器人，他们被应用于各个行业。在大多数工厂里，我们需要机器人去做一些危险的、重复的以及高精度的工作，你知道他们不会疲倦并且足够精细，能避免失误。这样机器人极大提高了生产力。

In scientific field, our researchers use robots to complete tasks in extreme environment（极端环境）which is unlikely for human to stay long, such aspolar regions, deep oceans and primitive forests. With their assistance, researchers have acquired much firsthand information, which makes a great contribution to（做出贡献） the research.






在科学领域，我们的研究者使用机器人在极端环境中完成任务，这些地方都不适合人类长久驻扎，比如两极地区、深海中以及原始森林里。在他们的协助之下，研究员们获取了许多第一手的信息资料，给科研做出了很大贡献。

For the public, robots can be a good helper（好帮手）. Now, cleaning robot is popular in many cities, an increasing number of people tend to have one in their family. It’s convenient to use and can save us much time and energy, so that we can free our hands and do whatever we want.

By the way, there are robots which are used in some banks or restaurants, they can offer us some help or advice when we in need. Most of them lookadorable（可爱的）, so they are welcomed by citizens.

对于大众来说，机器人可以是生活的好帮手。现在清洁机器人在许多城市都很流行，越来越多的人都想拥有一个。它使用起来很方便，可以节省我们许多时间和精力，这样可以解放我们的双手去做自己想做的事。

顺便一提，在一些银行或餐馆里也有机器人，他们可以在我们有需要时提供一些帮助与建议。他们大部分看起来都很可爱，所以很受市民的欢迎。

机器人不是万能的！

Robots are not almighty！

The most obvious one is that robots are lack of emergency responding capacity（缺乏应急反应能力）. It’s true that robots can work continuously, but if there’s an emergency, normally they don’t know how to handle it and just keep their move, sometimes it will hurt the people around and might cause greater loss.

最明显的一点是机器人缺乏应急反应能力。他们确实可以不停工作，但是紧急情况出现的时候他们往往不知道如何处理，还会继续自己的动作，有时它会伤害周围的人还可能会造成更大的损失。

Compared with human beings, robots are inadequate in flexibility（灵活性不足） and they have no feelings or emotions. And that is exactly why most of people won’t use robot as a babysitter, they don't have the love and empathy（爱与同情） that children need during critical period of development（成长的关键时期） and children need constant human contact in order to grow.

和人比较起来，机器人灵活性不足，并且它们没有感觉和情绪。这也正是人们不愿意用机器人作为保姆的原因，他们没有孩子成长关键阶段需要的爱和同情，孩子的成长需要持续的人类接触。
