为了保护中国传统文化，我们学校在上周五举办了中国诗词比赛。 In order to protect the traditional Chinese culture, our school held the Chinese Poetry Competition last Friday.

幸运的是，两周前我被选中代表我们班参加了这次活动。 Luckily, I was chosen to join the activity on behalf of my class two weeks ago.

我的一些同学一有空就帮我复习一些我不熟悉的诗。

Some of my classmates helped me to review some poems I was not familiar with whenever they were free.

我的老师鼓励我要尽最大努力。 My teacher encouraged me to try my best.

在比赛中，我成功地回答了评委提出的所有问题，因为我做好了充分的准备。

During the competition I managed to answer all the questions given by the judges because I made good preparations for it.


当我获得第一名时，我意识到是同学们的善意帮助和老师的鼓励促成了我的成功。

When I won first prize, I realized that it was my classmates’ kind help and my teacher’s encouragement that contributed to my success.
